The Oronoque Village Arts Guild was formed in 2016. The mission of the Guild is to provide opportunities for residents to gather in a social setting while enjoying the arts – including visual arts, performing arts, literature and film. Our community is rich in talent and, whenever possible, we showcase this talent during our presentations.
Works of visual art are displayed in our Galerie OV, located in the foyer of the South Clubhouse. These exhibits include works by Village artists in all painting media, sculpture, photography, stained glass and needlework. The exhibits are changed quarterly and opening receptions are held after each exhibit is installed.
Guild meetings are held quarterly and our programs feature Village authors, musicians, and artists as well as outside groups such as the Connecticut Ballet, Square One Theater and Shannon Fine Art Auctioneers.
Classes in jewelry-making, drawing, painting, and other crafts are offered and are taught by Village residents or outside professionals. We also show art films that are not available at the local movie theaters.
The calendar year membership (September to September) is $15, which entitles members to attend quarterly meetings and many other events free of charge. Guests pay a small fee. You don’t need to be an artist to join the Arts Guild … appreciators are most welcome.
